Match Fishing

Rochdale Walton Angling Society run trophy matches throughout the season on both of our club waters and on some prolific away venues.

We always welcome newcomers to match fishing, we have a laugh and don't take it too seriously. The £5 pools are optional on home venues. We also run a bonus peg system at £1 per match but again, this is optional. Any member is welcome to fish the matches just for "pleasure" and if successful, will receive a trophy along with a Rochdale Angling Centre fishing voucher at the presentation night.

Please book on to away matches as soon as possible otherwise places will have to be filled by non-members of the club.

Stuart Butterworth is our match secretary and can be contacted on 07970 727 070.

Free membership and a trophy is presented to the winner of the club championship.

The Club Championship Trophy for 2008/2009 was presented to Chris Woodrup (right) with a two point lead over runner up Pete Mottram. Full Result

All matches are run in accordance with the NFA Model match Rules plus the following:

1. No floating baits to be used on home waters.
2. Bloodworm and Joker allowed from 1st October.
