NEWSLETTER August 2007

Although the nights are beginning to draw in, there is still plenty of good fishing to be had on both the Dell and at Syke. Both our waters have produced consistently good catches throughout the summer, (despite the rain). Because of the good sport, I am pleased to say we have seen an increase in the number of day ticket guests visiting our waters, several of whom have become new members of our club. On behalf of our President and Committee, I would like to welcome all our new members and hope our waters provide you with the expectations you desire.

Have you seen our new website? (www.rochdalewalton.co.uk). A big thankyou must go to our webmaster Simon Newsham who has given us what must be one of the best small club websites on the net. Well done Simon!!! (He has the technology).

We had a slight scare last month when the River Spod became polluted with chemicals at Whitworth. Our intrepid Dell Bailiff, Eddie Earnshaw, was feeding the fish in the stockpond when he noticed several fish in distress. Members acted swiftly and managed to divert the water from the Spod, which supplies fresh water to the Dell. As a result of their actions, we lost only a small amount of fish from the stockpond. Well done lads!!!

Just a couple of reminders :-
Litter. If it’s in your peg on arrival, you inherit it, please take it home.

Membership card. Please have it with you at all times. It helps our bailiffs and other members to identify you as a member. You may be asked to leave the water if you haven’t got it.

The next Members Meeting will be held at the Transport Club, Baron Street Rochdale, on Monday 17th September at 8.00pm.

Hope to see you there.

Jim(secretary). E-Mail:secretary@rochdalewalton.co.uk
