Rochdale Walton AS

Junior Match Rules.

We are quite relaxed when it comes to junior match fishing. The priority is all about child development and enjoyment within the sport.

  • Must be under the age of 16years of age to participate in junior matches any child 16 or over will be allowed to fish in the adult section.
  • Must be a registered member of the club
  • Each child must be with a responsible adult
  • Will draw a peg and that will be their peg for the duration of the match. Please ensure that they stay within the area of the peg during the match.
  • No bait to be thrown in before the start of the match. The start of the match will be called by the organiser.
  • Parents, please allow the child to fish independently, you can help land the fish or remove the hook but it’s a junior match so let the child fish.
  • Please ensure your child is safe on the peg.
  • The match will last for 2 and half hours in length unless bad weather stops the event. Like I said is about child welfare.
  • There are 5 matches in total and we work on a points system, 10points winner – 9 points second ect. They will record the best 4 results out of the 5 matches at the end.
  • At the end of the match a signal we be made. If you are playing a fish at this time you are allowed to land the fish.
  • Keep nets will be provided by the club.
  • Coaches will be at the venue for help if required.

Many thing is to have fun !!!!!!

President RWAS

We would like to thank both Northern Joinery ltd and Rochdale Angling centre for their sponsorship of our junior match squad. Without the support from these we wouldn’t be able to send the juniors to the national championship this year.
